Question engine swap candidates

my friend had an o4 svt cobra with the supercharger and alot of things done to it well he wrecked it and is now selling me the engine for dirt cheap along with the transmission. What model mustang will be able to take this engine and trans swap if any? Or what model mustang can i cheaply modify to fit this application?

94-04 mustang gt or cobra. it would also fit in a v6 but you would have to physically strengthen the suspension and the whole car.

Thats awesome dude!!! Pleeeeease turn it into a sleeper and come visit my town. I've got some local Vettes I'll PAY YOU to obliterate. But like badass said, dropping it into a 94-04 gt should produce minimal problems. Actually, will you sell me the engine?? I'll give you a good premium over what you paid for it. C'mon!

Default 88 model?

would it be possible to put this in an 80's model 5.0? Cause that would be the cheapest and i dont have a whole lot of cash to spend on this project at the moment.

It would take more money than you're willing to spend to drop it into a fox body. It can be done, but it's not easy or cheap. Your best bet is like it's been said before. Find a '94-'04, preferably a GT as it will require the least ammount of modifications.

muscle mustangs and fast fords magazine dropped a lightning motor (very similar to '03 cobra motor) in a 85-86 lx coupe! it required MAJOR modifications. when they eventually got it in, the top of the motors was sitting about 12" above the top of the fenders! there was bearly any piece of a hood to put on the car. anyone remember that car? i forget what they called it. so, i guess im trying to say stick to the 94-04 stangs or just buy them motor and tranny and sell them for a nice profit.
