Default Cobra spring suggestions

I am going to lower my 97 Cobra vert. I want to use Ford Racing Springs.

Has anyone used M-5300-C, & whats the ride like. I will not be doing any racing, just street use (semi-daily driver in summer months).

Has anyone used the M-5300-G (convertible only)? This number looks like they are a little softer, with a little more drop.

I do not want to have to worry about tires rubbing, or every bump in the road scrapping. Just looking to eliminate some of the gap between fender and top of tire.

Any advice appreciated

Today I installed the M-5300-C spring kit into a 94 convert Mustang. I work at a dealership and we weren't able to get stock springs from Ford or the aftermarket (CarQuest). These springs lowered the rear 7/8ths of inch and 1 inch in front. The ride didn't feel any worse then a GT with stock springs. The main difference between the "C" and "G" is that the C has linear rate front springs where the G has variable rate. Both springs will require resetting the front end alignment. The camber will go more negative (leaning in at the top) and the toe will go out excessively. I was able to get the camber into spec by elongating the holes in the shock towers, but I'd suggest get a quality caster/camber plate and new springs. :thumbup

So you can't notice the differnce by not having progressive rate springs. Ride quality not any worse. I was thinking of using camber/caster adjustment bolts, instead of plates (save some money and not change under hood look). Did you install offset rack bushing? Any bump steer problems?

Thanks for you reply.

i just sold my 97 gt,but i did install a set of suspension techniques springs. i honestly think that my gt rode smoother with the susp. tech. springs than it did with the stock springs, i would also suggest that you do not buy eibach's. they ride like rocks and are not a very quality product. its like driving with no springs. hope this helps. oh ya, i plan on buying another set of susp. tech. springs for my 98 cobra quite soon.

I thought coilovers rode softer than conventional springs........i know a guy with coilovers in a newer Golf GTI with 19" wheels and his car rides like a cadillac and handles like a porsche.
