Default '03 Cobra clutch in '98 Cobra

I have read that an 11" clutch and flywheel from a '03 and newer Cobra will bolt into my '98 Cobra. From what I have read the bolt pattern on the cranks are the same. The question that I have is "How will this effect the starter in my '98 Cobra? Will I have to change to a newer starter or will the old one work?" Any information that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Bill

It is NOT a king cobra clutch!

The question is why stick in a stock '03 Cobra clutch in your '98? Check out a stage 2 clutch from SPEC, or a stage 3 if you have something in the 450+ rwHP range.

How strong is your left leg? The 03 Cobra came with a fairly stiff clutch, OK if not daily driving your car. The 04 Cobra's have a noticeably lighter clutch, still stronger then a GT's but nearer to what the 99/01 Cobra's had.

My '98 is a bonestock convertible w/ no real plans of serious performance work. I can get an aluminum flywheel and clutch from a '03 at a really good price and was told it bolts right up. My only real concern was how the increased diameter of the flywheel was going to effect the starter. I sent an email to "need for speed" and they replied that no mods were needed and that I could use my original starter.
