Hello,

I'm not really new to the forum but this is my first time in the high tech section. I would like to know if anyone knows the factory specs of the 95 Cobra R motor. I'm rebuilding one and I just want a base line. I know its a 351 W with GT40 heads and lower intake and the cobra plenum. Which GT40 heads X or Y? What is the lift for exhaust and intake on the cam? What size invectors did it have? I would like to know all this so I can plan my upgrades from there. This motor is going in my Fox body convertable with a temec T-56 tranny. I picked up the motor for $350.00 with no heads or crank when I went to visit family down south. I pulled it out of the car myself. I had it acid washed and checked. Its all blueprinted and everything now i just have to spend money and build it.

There is nothing special about the 95 Cobra R 351W. It uses the same GT40 iron heads, cam, 1.7 roller rockers, and 24lbs injectors as the 5.0 Cobra engine. There is a slight difference in the GT40 intake. The 351 uses a 351W GT40 lower, which are identical as the 5.0 GT40 lower but wider. The upper manifold is the same except the Cobra R has 351 Cobra R cast into it.

The one major difference is in the cooling system. The Cobra R uses a de-gas system and a better oil cooler.

Ok thanks I just asked because I came into a 351 w and was thinking of building a Cobra R motor to through into my 88. I guess its not really a big deal then. Thanks for the reply.
