Default 4.30 gears on 99/01 cobra please respond

This goes out to all 99/01 owners & even 98 cobra owners with 4.30 gears. I've got 4.10 gears with a Viper T-56. Can anyone give me an idea what their cobra feels like on 4.30s. I definetely getting them---just wondering if anyone can give me an idea from experience what a 4.10 vs. 4.30 cobra feels like. Any input would be great.

i would assume there is not that much of a difference do to the minimal difference in the gear. It would be as noticable as going from 3.27's to 3.55's or 3.55's to 3.73's IMO

Thanks---but I could have figured that out myself--considering I have 4.10s. I need opinions from people with 4.30 gears--not speculators. I need to know what the seat of the pants feel is like with the torque multiplication that comes with 4.30s. I need eyewitness testimony.

Going to 4.30s can't be like stepping up from 3.27s to 3.73s. Stepping up to 4.30s is tremendous torque multiplication. Its not on the same level as far as comparisons go.

well i wasn't born yesterday and don't appreciate the comment. it's a percentage factor. your only adding .20 to the gear ratio. if you want true data ask for the trap speeds and times in the 1/4 in relation to each gear. that's where it counts... not in the seat of the pants. the sotp dyno is never accurate. BTW my gear swap will be 4.30's shortly. 4.10's are for GT's not cobra's/machs

Don't take it the wrong way bro. I was very specific in the post. I wanted to here about people who actually were DRIVING their cars with 4.30s. I'm getting them this summer---and I'm simply just anxious to read what others think of their vehicle on 4.30s. There's plenty of forums where I can read about WHAT PEOPLE THINK IT'S LIKE---but thats not one I'm looking for. Anyway---its nothing personal bro. I just a specific guy. I have an idea of what my trap and 1/4 will be with them under my car's current configuration. But I'll wait for real world testing at Englishtown.

Just my .02:

When I first purchase the car back in 99 with less than 100 miles on it 3.73s were installed. Then, because they were too lame, 4.10s went in. The gain was not there for me so, 4.30s are in and they rock.

This is how I see it, for exmaple:

4.10s in lets say, 3rd gear = 4.30s 2nd, what I mean is how quickly and how strong it will pull. I can pull on 5th gear with the 4.30s as hard as the 4.10s pull on 4th.

They rock! Once I get back to the US of A, 4.56s will go in, but driving on the Autobahn the 4.56s will be too extreme.

Default Nazman . . .

Now you said that with 4.30s ---5th gear feels like 4.10s in 4th gear? Wow. Thats the kind of input I was looking for. Now I'm assuming that your description is based on a 5 speed right? I'm curious. When you went to 4.30s did you still have the stock driveshaft in? Was there intense driveline vibration? Or did you go alumimum or carbon fiber?

Last question. I'm assuming that if you went 4.30s then at the time you also had an aftermarket exhaust, you know, typical N/A mods. Does the exhaust note sound any different? I know thats an unusual question. Did your tires wear any quicker???

Thanks bro. Thats the kind of post specific reply I was looking for. Are you in the military--stationed over in Germany?

Exhaust Note did not change.

Car is NA, with 5 Speeds and all the bolt-ons.

Yes, stationed in Germany. About 30 minutes from Frankfurt.

God Bless you. Your making a career out of the military or you are finishing up your service commitment? Do you keep your stang in storage or do you have some one trustworthy who drives it a few times a week?

In the Army for about 18 years now. About 2 more years till retirement. Getting ready to move down to San Antonio TX where I plan to retire.

The Stang is over here with me and the Family. Its here at my garage during winter months (may see a few miles if is nice and sunny), I have a winter beater (Toyota Tercel) and the wife drives a Ford Explorer V8.

Getting ready to purchase an 05 AMG C55 (MB) to cruise around the Bahn and take back.
