i bought my cobra not long ago, its an '03, and have put only 6000 mi. on it. im already having problems with the clutch! this is the 2nd mustang ive have with the same problem. its the darn throw out bearing (living up to its name!). my previous mustang was a 98 gt. i have no idea why this keeps happening to me. i took my 98 in i guess 8 or 9 times before they got it fixed. do you think its how i shift? everyone i know says i shift very well and smothly. and no i dont mash through the gears. and its a dayly driver and i dont drive it hard. so has anyone else had this trouble!?
On my GT, my throw out bearing went out at 6500 miles. I took it in and had them replace it. But I drive my car hard. Could be a cable out of adjustment, a lot of high rpm shifting, or the stock bearing just might suck like mine did. A lot of stop and go driving can also wear it out faster.
i know my case may bea lil different (i have a lot more miles) but yeah, my clutch sucks. just today i pulled it outta first and went to put it in 2nd and it didn't go (my 2nd gear in my tranny is kinda screwy) so when i threw it in 3rd it took a minute to engage. i was like....wtf!

there is a technical service bullitin out on the 03' cobras, it has something to do wih the throwout bearing havent learned all specifics but mine is being reaired right now, they have to change the bellhousing.
I am upgrading to an 04 Cobra clutch kit(flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disk,TOB) later on this month and I have a UPR adjuster for it. Once I get it in, I will update you all on any issues.
Throw Out Bearing on all 94+ year mustangs have the same problem. They don't last. Seems like everyone I know has the problem. Even the one on my V6 has been changed twice. Some people luck out and get 20K miles out of a certain brand, then buy the same brand to have it go out in 5-6K miles.
The worst part about a Throw out bearing is that it is only like $20-25 part, but it is very expensive to have someone do it because of all the labor. So you might as well do the clutch while you are in there. Doing it yourself is not hard, just better be ready to do a lot of crawling around under your car. It's a work out for sure.
