Default 03-04 cobra 6 speed shifters

Hello all. Im wondeing who's got an aftermarket short throw shifter for their 03-04 cobra.

I do not have a cobra, nor do I even own a ford. But, I do have an aftermarket Tremec T56 6 speed tranny in my truck. Im told that the cobra trannies use the same shifter as whats stock on mine, as well as some of the vipers.

Curious to what you guys are using, how much of a differnce it made, and how you liked it.

So far, Iv'e seen the Pro 5.0, B&M, and Hurst makes one for the 03-04 6 speed cobras. Im leaning towards the Pro 5.0, but would ike to hear from you guys. Thanks

I have a steeda Tri Ax, in my 03 cobra....Love it, its tight and has adjustable stop points. You can also adjust the height of the shifter, which would probably be helpful in your truck. Also most of the 03 04 cobra owners i have ran into have tri ax's as well. Good luck. By the way, what kind of truck do you have the t-56 in?

I've been looking around at a few other mustang forums, and it seems that everyone loves the MGW over the triax and 5.0 shifters. I was thinking of trying it, if I can get a handle that will fit my application.

The tranny is in my 92 s-10 blazer. 2wd, 2 door. I've got a clone ZZ430 350 V8 motor. ZZ4 crate motor,LT4 HOT cam, fastburn heads. Should be around 415-420 HP NA. I"ve got a plate NX kit that I don't have hooked up yet. Plan on spraying 150 shot on it.

5/4 drop, tall spindle conversion, 12" camaro disc brakes all around, handles pretty well IMO for a suv.

Best time of 13.42@107.47mph na. Only time at the track after my cam swap, and hot lapped all 3 of my runs that night.

Im swapping everything over to a standard cab newer body style truck right now.(drivetrain, suspension, brakes, etc) Hoping to drop close to 400 lbs with the truck vs the blazer. I should pick up 3-4 mph with the weight drop. Im not buildign a drag truck, but all around performer.

The MGW has 2 different articulated handles and you can rotate them and lock them in place to get pretty much any angle you want.

The Steeda Tri Ax is a great shifter for the 03-04 Cobra's.

I have a Steeda Tri-Ax and do not like it. If you want it I will sell it to you. Send me an email if you are interested.

Thanks, but I went with the MGW unit. Its a little short, but I've gotten used to it.

New truck is up and running also, raced it last weekend.

I have a Steeda TriAx. I have had numerous other brands in other cars. Everyone has their preferences but essentially they all do the same thing and are made very similar. You will get more noise but your shifts will be precise. Think of an aftermarket shifter as tranny insurance if you bang gears.
