Default 18x9 wheels on 03 cobra???

I bought FR500 wheels for my 03 cobra. I understand that the 03 cobra's have IRS? If they do, will I need a 1" spacer to make these wheels fit? Any input is much appreciated!

I can only answer one of your questions...It has IRS. Someone should chime in shortly to answer your other question.

Yes they do have IRS.You will not need a one inch
spacer with the standard 18X9 wheels that come on the
03-04 Cobra's.Unless you have some huge tires on their.
What size tires are you getting?

God I forget the exact tire dimensions but the rim is 18x9 & the tire on the back 2 tires are the widest tire you can fit on a 9" rim. I think its 10" wide.

03 and 04 Cobra's came with 17 x 9 inch wheels stock. I believe the widest tire you can run on a 9 inch wide wheel is 275/40/17 which is what I have on my ride. You will not NEED spacers but it would make the back ones look meatier IMO. Since you went with an 18 inch wheel, I think you can run a 285/35/18 on the back and a 265/35/18 on the front. Not really sure as I have 17 x 9s. Let us know how it turns out and post pics! :thumbup

285/35/18 is whats going on the back 2 rims. Will the dude who mounts & balances my rims & tires be able to tell right away if I do need 1" spacers? Are spacers expensive? Can they be found at local tire & wheel shops? THanks for your help guys! Know what do you guys know abot intercooler fluid for my other thread?

you will not need spacers. but spacers cost anywhere from $60-$100 for a good pair. be sure to buy hubcentric!

Those Ford FR500 Rims should fit just fine with no spacers.

I know someone who put theme on his 03 Cobra and I am pretty sure he didn't need spacers, even with lowered springs.

Running spacers is best avoided as a general rule.

Provided you have the correct offset, you'll be fine.

On my 2003 Cobra, I have 18x9 wth Yokohama AVS Sports on the front and on the rear, 18x10.5 with Yokohama AVS Sports.
It will depend on the tire you use with the IRS. Lower profile tires clear. taller tires hit.
I run 265/35/18 in front & 295/35/18 in rear for street. then up to a 305/30/18 for track.
No spacers here.
