Default Need some help here???

Allright all you long time owners, here goes. I just bought my 94 cobra and have been reading up on it. I found out that our computer is a big piece of ****. So my question here is two fold. One I have a scanner that works on OBD 2 cars. I hooked it up but it says vehechile is not responding, I tried my friends also and had the same results. So has to be the vehicle not the scaners. Is my car OBD 1 or what? It has a OBD 2 plug located in the spot under the dash where OBD2 plug is standerd on cars. I think this is where ford was making the jump to OBD 2 and ****** it up. Next question is what kind of computer chips/programmers are you guys running? I would like to be ablt to have the timing and fuel curves like the old fox body cars. AKA read good computer not bad like ours. Our ARE CARS able to be made to run faster with good chip installed. I have heared like around a full 1/2 second difference. Well hope to get lots of posts on this one.. Help!!!!!:thumbsup

I am not familiar with your vehicle, but from reading the Haynes Repair Manual your vehilce uses the EEC-lV system (OBD l). 4.6L engines uses the EEC-V system (OBD ll). Hope this helps some.

Yes the computer is a little detuned, you can get a couple of more ponies with a good chip and tune. I dont about dropping a 1/2 second though, I doubt that would happen with out some mods.
