 Need some upgrade advice
Hello and greetings from the Cayman Islands.
I am first of all a mustang noob, but have alot of experience with the inmport scene. I have fallen into a project that involves putting a 96 cobra engine and drivetrain into a 92 toyota starlet. This is basically 2dr tercel hatchback that dosent go to the states. Why you ask? because a friend of mine got both free after the hurricane Ivan that swept through here last year.
Anyway. We stripped the engine and discovered the cams are shot because of rust. Surprisingly everything else is fine but i dont know how to aproach the buildup of this engine. I need cams but not sure which to get. The car will be seeing a variety of events but most likley more drag racing than anything else. They have to be lopey, this thing will barely be streetable so idle is a afterthought. I am going with a superchips racer program tuner to do away with the elec anoyances like airbag and PAT as well as second O2s etc.
What are some other things that i should consider changing? The headers are a given and i will have to make a custom cai of some sort.
