Hello,
While replacing the pinion seal on my 99 Cobra, I noticed a gap between the washer and the rubber bumper on the bolt that holds the diff on. I tried to tighten the bolt to eleminate the gap and got the bolt as tight as I could get it without breaking the bolt. With 66,000 miles on the car is it possible that these are worn out and has anyone else had this problem?

Do you mean the two bushings stack-ups on the front of the diff carrier next to the pinion? If they look suspect then this would be a great chance to replace them with urethane ones that will take some of the slop out of your IRS. There is more info in a post I left in a thread below, including links to a few manufacturers. I did mine at like 12000 km (Canadian car) so I don't know how well they age. Good luck. Jim.
