Default Rear brake piston not compressing

Hello,
While doing rear end work, I decided to check the brakes. Guess what, they needed replaced. The piston will not compress with a clamp or a piston compression tool. I even backed off the bleeder screw with the clamp on and the piston stayed put. What is going on with that?

Thanks again,
Chris

Default Rear brake piston retraction

There's a tool you need to twist the piston as it goes back in; this is because of the way the park brake works. Any decent auto parts place should be able to get it. Its a square deal with pegs that should fit into the piston, and a 1/2" square recess for a ratchet or something. BTW opening the bleed screw is a good idea, that way you won't force old fluid back up the lines. Good luck. Jim.
