[96COBRA4.6]

Hi all, I just picked up a 96 Cobra with a tick in the engine compartment. The previous owner had overheated the car at some point. The tick came shortly after that. He had the motor completely rebuilt 1000 miles ago and the tick is still there. Since the rebuild the car has gone to a ford dealer for a check on the tick. The did some dissambly and could only find a small scratch in one cylinder. The told me it was no worse than something that may come from the factory. They put it back together and said run it, the motor is like new. Any idea on where to look. It sounds like it is coming from the top of the motor. Thanks.

Could possibly be an exhaust manifold causing the tick, it's worth checking out.

He's right about an exhaust leak. The fuel injectors on my 95 Toy truck tick away. I'm not sure if the injectors tick on 96 Cobras. If the Ford guys say run it, I say run it. If it breaks, you'll know what it was.
