Engine oil dipstick

What should the oil dipstick look like in the 4.6 liter cobras? Should it be the one with the crosshatch that says empty-full or the thin ropelike dipstick that says min.-max.? My owners manual says the 4.6 is the crosshatch and the 3.8 is the other one...........the one in my engine is reversed..........i have the thin rope like one with the min.-max reading

Well, mine has the thin rope like one. So I would say your OK.
