A lot of the wheel hop is caused by the flexing of the car's structure, IRS cradle movement, and poor traction (tires are trying to hook, but just can't stay hooked, causing hop). I would start with a good differential brace (the one that mounts at the back of the pumpkin), and full length subframe connectors. Next, add a set of urethane IRS subframe bushings. After that, a set of Maximum Motorsports differential bushings, both on the front "ears" of the differential and on the rear mount. A good set of re-inforcing brackets for the rear cradle mounts (where the quadra shocks mount on a solid axle Mustang), and a set of '03 - '04 Cobra coupe rear springs will help. Good tires are important also, since more traction will reduce wheel hop. I believe that these mods will take care of almost all of your wheel hop, making the Cobra more fun to drive and less likely to break any rearend parts. |
