Default Cleaning my MAF sensor

Does anybody know how to remove the MAF sensor from a 94-98 cobra? somebody said i need a torx 20 tamper proof...........what is that? never heard of a tamper proof torx tool.

you don't clean them. it will kill them & you will need to buy a new one. But yes, you use a torque bit with the hole in tip. That is because the bolts are star bit but have a little nipple in the middle of them. You can get these at your local parts store for cheap.

you dont clean them? what is this i heard when when installing a k & n filter there might be oil from it that has gotten into the MAF sensor........to take it out and clean it with electrical contact cleaner............Is this not true?

I clean mine every six months. Spray the contact cleaner on everytime. After unbolting the MAF electronics just pull very carefully. I am on my 5th mod car and have cleaned them all this way and never had a problem.

I say go for it.
