can I run my 03' stock mustang on mid-grade gas?

I just bought a bone-stock 03' cobra and I was just curious as to if I can run the car on mid-grade gas without doing any damage or having any issues arise from it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have always been told that if you have a boosted car you have to run high octane gas. It helps to prevent detonation.

Not a good idea. I would not even consider it personally.

The owner's manual says PREMIUM UNLEADED for a reason. A higher octane level resists detonation in high compression or boosted vehicles. Theoretically if you never got on your cobra enough to boost it you could get away with using regular since it's non boosted compression ratio is 8. something to 1. Where would the fun in that be? If you want to play, you gotta pay.

that's true. I'm not complaining at all about using premium, and I absolutely love the cobra...I was just curious was all. Thanks for the info all.
