Default Speedometer Is off

I have a 2003 Cobra that has 4.10s gears in it and I noticed that my speedo is off about 14 mph. I saw in one of the other threads where someone was talking about getting a speedo recalibrator and recalibrating it yourself. Does anyone know about how much those cost and how hard the process is? Any info would be appreciated Thanks.

it's called a Speedcal and it's made by Dallas Mustang...

go to google and type in Mustang SpeedCal...that should help you...

you can either get that little thing installed or you can get the car custom tuned through SCT or Diablo...

the custom tune is the better way cause you can do way more things than just fix the speedo, but it's also more costly...

you can try e-bay for a cheaper speedcal, or check out some local shops or forums for someone selling a used one...

good luck

I have the X-Cal 2 and I don't use it really...I only got it so I could data log if I ever need to, and pull my own error codes...as well as set up my 2-step (rev limiter) for when I go racing...my tuner loaded his tune and that was it...I don't mess with the stuff I don't know about, like the spark and fan stuff...

it's worth it though, you can always return the car back to stock if you ever need to, and you don't have to worry about having an actual chip in your computer making it a lil stealthier
