Default 2003 cobra serpentine belt problems???

i had to change my alternator, so i had to take off the belt and now that i have everything back in place the belt is too tight and wont fit in. i could use some advice

If changing the alternator made your belt tighter than before, I would make sure that #1 you have the belt routed correctly, and #2 that you got the correct alternator. There is nothing about that install that should alter the tension of your belt...

Do you still have the old alternator handy? if so I would make sure that everything matches, and that the pulley is of exactally the same size as your new one...

Then look at the sticker under your hood and make sure you are routing the belt correctly.

The belt is normally pretty stubborn about going back on, because it has to tight because of the blower.
