Default rim/tire issues what can i do?

Hello all. I have an '04 cobra and would like to switch up my wheel/tire combo. Ideally here's what i would like... 18x9's up front and 18x10.5's out back with 315's. Also i would like to lower the car.

1.Will there be any clearance issues?
2.How much can i lower the car, if at all
3.What other hardware will i need for the install
4.What is the offset?? do i need to worry about castor/camber plates?

i was considering the mustang cobra r repro's, just because i like the deep dish look on the rear. any input or suggestions would be appreciated..

i apologize if this is redundant for some, however i'm new here to the site and i didn't find the info i was looking for.
thanks in advance...

I have 18x8.5 up front and 18x10 out back on my 04. I am running 275/35 and 295/35. I am not sure 315's will fit on 18's. I think most people who go with that wide of a tire use 17's to get the clearence they need.

Default 315

315's will fit, though it depends a bit on WHICH 315's you use. All tires have varying widths (regardless of having the same metric size tread width). So, which tires were you considering buying. If you haven't shopped for them yet, be advised there are not many 315 tires in 18" sizes - and they tend to be costly Pirelli or Michelin tires, unless you're looking for track tires or drag radials (which of course have very brief lifespans, though they are very sticky).

It also depends to a large extent on the setback of the WHEELS you buy. Wheels that push out the tire placement away from the car allow you to run larger width tires than wheels that are offset more TOWARD the car.

Finally, the ability to add modest (less than 1/2") spacers can solve clearance issues if necessary, though its always better to avoid these if possible.

I have more info. about the typical GT (vs IRS cobra) setup, since that is my personal vehicle. I run 18x10's with 295's with no problem whatsoever, and I can fit my entire hand betwen the sidewall of the 295/35 WR18 Firehawks and the inner fender well. I have no doubt I could run 315's with the wheels (Mustang Tuning source, Cobra R Replica deep dish bullit wheels) I'm running.

Hope this helps. Figure out precisely which wheels and tires you will be running, and it is possible to compute the offset (this is usually available from the dealer, but ALWAYS available from the manufacturer) and tire width.

Default wheels

I'm running the Eibach 1" pro spacer on the rear. It sits the wheel out perfect with the front. It handles much better and looks great from the side and from the rear. It does need a bigger tire to finish filling up the inside of the fender. I'm thinking about going up to a 285 40 17 on the rear vs. the 275. I want to avoid the ballon look. Anyone tried this combo yet? Thanks.
