As far as the tune it doesn't matter if it's a chip or flash, it matters who is doing the tune.
I would look into a flash tuner as most of them on the market will support datalogging. Also, a flash tune is easy to load where as a chip requires you to pull the computer out of the passenger side kick panel area to install and you also have to clean the goop off the contacts in the computer so it makes a good connection.
I've used the Diablosport Predator and then switched to the SCT XcalII, IMHO the XcalII is better in terms of datalogging ability compared to the Predator.
