Post Terminator engine questions

Hello all. My question is this. All 03 04 terminators were made with one purpose in mind. TO GO FASSSST! I am currently looking for an 03 04 with under 30k but I have some worries with buying one. First question is about the pulleys. It seems that most owners changed the pulleys obviously because its a cheap way of adding loads of power but how much wear and tear does this put on the engine? Second Question is about the supercharger. My friend told me that having a supercharger puts more strain on the car that if i ran nos. is this true? Third question. I would prefer to find one that has been babied since day one and is stock, however if i cannot find one that is stock what are some mods that i should look for that are obvious signs that the owner raced/abused the car. Are there any good mods to look for that may not hurt the car but help? Any and all help is much appreciated!

i think most people put the 2.8 inch pulley on, and personally i dont think that is goin to cause any more wear (other than the sc spinning faster at any given rpm) on the engine than a stock pulley. If you are concerned about wear, then judge the owner of the car. Older people are usually more gentle on their cars, just look at overall condition. Second, no a supercharger doesnt put any more wear than nitrous. here is the thing. this particular motor was built to handle the power. not to mention that the engine is not always under constant boost. i would say that generally nitrous is more harmful to your engine than a supercharger. another thing, nitrous comes on at once, while a supercharger needs to build boost depending on throttle position.

I agree with lxarlo 100%. I would think that NOS is more harmful to your vehicle than a SC. I've heard horror stories about NOS, like the top of engines blowing through the roof of the vehicle and such. I think a pulley is a great bolt on to have; I plan to get one next year.

You can still find a used SVT Cobra under 10,000 miles for about $29,000 to $30,000 dollars. Be patient and look carefully. You may have to travel as I did.

Here's a Whipple Supercharged Cobra for $42,000 dollars!!!!

The 03-04 Cobra's were built to handle the power of a S/C as stated above. The bottem end can handle up to 900hp stock so i'm sure there is very minimal wear on the engine caused by the S/C. And Nitrous is way more harmful to the engine than a blower. Nitrous is violent horsepower and I don't recommend using it unless your building your engine around a Nitrous system.

I personally have a 100 shot sitting in my garage floor. Have not had the time to put it on. This holiday season has kind of sucked. My uncle died suddenly and the wife and I have both been very sick. I have not even started my car in more than a week. But back to subject at hand I have been told that 03-04 cobras can handle both sc/n20. But only if run a realistic shot and have a good tune. MOST IMPORTANT- GOOD TUNE.
