If I recall those Cobra's were about 235-240 from the factory which was really about 265-270 if you read into the sum of the parts (24 lb injectors, bigger MAF,GT 40 heads, Cobra intake, electric fan, factory shorties, etc. I really think you might see about 20-30 more horses with all I listed. The MSD box really helps at the top of the RPM band. The car will pull hard all the way through red line. Also drop in a 180 thermostat and bypass your smog if you can live with that. The exhaust helps a good bit and the gears will make it get into its RPM band quicker. A short throw will make it feel like you are rowing a race car instead of stirring an ax handle through a tub of gummy bears. Nitrous is cheaper but has its caveats. Bottle refills are around 40 bucks and bottles only last 45-50 seconds. If those year Cobras have cast pistons I would avoid a big shot. Have it tuned for NOS (less timing, more fuel). Try the less troublesome naturally aspirated way first until you decide you just gotta have more. |
