Some of the DSM's just tap from a soft lifter. Usually a bottle of Lucas will fix the tapping. Also the valve covers's internal baffling can come loose and hit the valve train if the car is running good without loss of power I prob is not anything major. Take off the valve cover make sure the bolts are torqued properly and make sure the underside of the valve covers baffling has not popped loose.
