Hello everybody.I am new to this forum stuff and this is pretty cool, tons of good information. keep up the good work. Any ways i have a question for all of you cobra owners, my engine died on me about 6 months ago and now that i have some mony i was wonderin if any of you guys know how expensive to rebuild this engine is going to be, or if i would be better of buying a replecement engine. I found that autozone can order a motorcraft rebuild engine with a 3 year, 3600mile warranty for 3600. Does anyone know if thats a good deal or should i have someone do the rebuild with better internals for nos or s/c. Any info will be apraciated, thanks.

I believe that for that amount of money you are comming very close to a FORD FACTORY shortblock. What exactally failed in your previous engine? That would have a lot to do in my opinion with how worth it a rebuild would be... Are you sure of the damage or of what component failed?

PISTONS themselves. or connecting rods or were they not that specific?
Did they mention any damage to the crank or block?
Do you trust this shop?
nothing specific utill they take the engine apart. I just wanted you guys opinion in worse case scenario.
