Default Using SCT XCal tuner on 2005 Mustang, need advice.

Hi Guys:

I'm tunning a ford mustang 2005 svt with the sct xcalibrator. The car have exhaust, big supercharger with throttle body and intake at 21 psi, bigger inyectors... we made 585 hp at the wheels and with nos 688 hp.... we went to the tracks and somehow the intercooler blew up.... This is the 2nd time that this happens....the first time was with the stock supercharger and with nos......Does anyone had this problem before >?

Also my real question is where can I buy the program for tunning that xcalibrator at a laptop, I see a usb cable to put it on the botton of the sct xcalibrator ... I'm new in the ford world and can't find any info. Any help will be welcome.

thanks
eddie

When I bought my SCT XCal 2, it came with a disk to load into my computer. I would do an internet search to get the web site for SCT XCal and go from there.

Thumbs up

SCT, sells the cable for $15.00, or any SCT dealer, Mike.

2005 SVT?? Did I miss something? I haven't heard of anyone blowing up their intercoolers. You would have to get the SCT racers package, the one you can tune yourself. If you have a SCT Xcal 2 or 3, you can datalog with a laptop with the usb cable but can't program or reprogram anything with that. check out www.sctflash.com, they have the program you download to your lapttop so you can datalog, if you can get it to work.
Also if you order a tune from someone, they email it to you, you have to have the right software downloaded to your cp, and you use the usb cable to transfer those tunes to your Xcal.

When I dynotuned my car Doug from Bama Chips hooked his laptop into my Xcal 2 and tuned it right from his laptop. Are you sure you can't tune from it?

You can get Advantage 3 custom tuning software, and tune it yourself it even has a built in help section so you can't screw it up. Go to SCTflash.com, and go to their download section. You can download Live Link from there on to your x cal 2 or laptop. You can actually data-log right from your X Cal2, without using a laptop, Mike. Everything came with my Advantage 3 software.
