Joe was good enough to write his story and couldn't get it to post (anti-Chevy filter?)

he forwarded me the copy,so I'll post it.
Greetings Ford Folk:
My name is Joe and I own the shop that "Low 11s" refers to in his post on
the first page. Having done many Corvettes both old and new Aaron asked if I
would consider working on his Mustang for him. I was more than happy to do
the work and started to put together a package based on what his goals were.
Forged Supercharged Motor
Headers, freeflow cats and mufflers
5 Speed TKO600
HD Clutch
New complete Fuel System
6 point roll gage
New Corbeau Seats
All new gauges
Nitrous (Purge and Intercooler Spray)
Rear Seat Delete
New Tubular control arms front and back
New Brembo front brake upgrade
New rear Cobra Brake Upgrade
Camber braces
Welded Subframe Connectors
etc. etc. etc.
Not having the same sources as I did for GM products I did some research at
the time and several sources pointed me to MBR. I called Tracy to discuss
what was needed, we struck a deal, and the project started.
Up to a point it was a "tolerable experience". Parts dribbled in but things
were missing. The intake on the motor was cracked in shipping, the front
cover of the motor was from a truck not a Mustang and thinking it went with
the blower setup and idlers/pulleys we didn't find out that was not going to
work until we had the car just about complete. Many of the Supercharger
parts were missing and the intercooler was a universal mount, not specific
to the GT.
For the record, they did send me a new intake, a new front cover, I finally
got the missing parts, and Tracy gave me a credit card to run through to get
the money back on all the SC parts I had to buy to make it work. At that
point all correspondence came to a halt. Chris lied on the phone for Tracy
and tech support was zip although full support was promised (as well as a
12month/12000 warranty on the motor which I have in writing). I saved every
email AND FAX.
The first big issue came when I was promised a new ECM with a suitable tune
for the motor and SC. That didn't happen. They then arranged to have it
tuned by a shop in New Jerser (Level 10) but then at the last minute they
backed out and I could get no real info as to why. Tracy agreed to pay for
it ($900) and I spent two days of my time hauling it to a shop in Hartford,
Ct. I also paid for the tuning at the time.
The tuning didn't go well though. We could not get the car to run right so I
hauled it all the way back to my shop again. We ran a compression check and
had a dead cylinder. We tore the top of the motor down to find that a valve
(probably cheap Chinese two piece) broke in half and litereally went through
the top of the piston and looked like a mushroom coming out of it. (See pic
in Low 11s post, I took that).
Numerous follow-up attempts to contact Tracy/MBR have been useless. In my
book, and especially after having read the horrow stories, hat MBR has done
is a disservice to all the reputable shops out there and I am not done with
him yet.
At our expense, we pulled the motor and as Aaron (Low 11s) stated the motor
is being completely gone over, parts checked for quality, all clearances
checked, all new stainless valves, etc. by the best machine shop in the
area. The tune will then be finished in Ct. All of this is coming out of our
pocket and all I can do is thank Aaron for being patient with us under the
circumstances. This is embarrassing for me as I have never had a situation
like this. But it is certainly not Aaron's fault and I would not take a dime
to make it right. I will do whatever it takes to make him a satisfied
customer and worry about MBR later.
The last I spoke with them I got the story that Tracy was sick and would get
back to me. I've had my share of health problems (torn elbows and surgery,
blood clots in the lungs, and pneumonia) and been in and out of hospitals,
but that is not my customer's problem and I need to do whatever it takes to
make it right. Aaron will have his car and get to enjoy it for the summer.
Thanks,
Joe..

If I posted them correctly, the pics below show that we were done and this
puppy was ready to rock.
