hmmm, were you running the A/C by chance?
and are you adding straight coolant or a 50/50 mix? straight coolant can cause a car to over heat too

nope, wasn't running the A/C.
and i added 50/50.

i'm burping it today again... with the heater on full blast.
just to be sure all air bubbles are out.
it's running fine now.. but it's a reoccuring issue and i want to make it stop.

Did you see where the coolant was coming out from? shouldn't be anything making a puddle unless it has a crack, hole, or you took the cap off or something to make it come out.
Burp is like you said that your going to do, drive it and see how it goes, if the temp starts to rise, i would pull over and see if you can see coolant anywhere that it could be leaking out of. Good luck with it.

this problem happened to me about 2 or 3 months ago, I changed to a 180- JET thermostat and not a problem since. . . today that is! MY car has just overheated again, and to top it off my alternator has taken to plunge too. I am going to be changing everything out, new alt, waterpump, and a new thermostat. . . if this does not fix the problem damn but as for youeself I say trying the thermostat, for only 10-20 bucks its well worth it, just do not cheat out on a crappy one cause it will bit you in the rear after

Anything from JET, i'm to skeptical about their stuff. I would go with stant or something better. Do you have a after market lower pulley? i know 4lbs + lower pulley will over spin the alt and make it crap out faster. I know extreme heat isn't to good for them. Good luck and hopefully those parts fix it for good.
