Default 2003-2004 Mustang Changing Gears Or Not

Those with the 03-04 Cobra's, have any of you changed the gear? I like the 355 for cruising but was thinking the 73's would be better around town with a better biting tire ofcourse. 410's are out of the question with the torque these cars make.

Your money would probably be better spent elsewhere to make power. Want more torque quicker, get a tune and pulley.

There are some many more mods that car will respod better to for the price of the gear and install. Plus going from a 3.55 to a 3.73 isn't going to be that big of a difference.

I've carried the existing tune as far as I can including changing over to a sct meter. From this point on, its a ported eaton or kb/whipple. Was thinking gears was the cheap thing at this point. Whipple was going on this past spring but my boy had to get braces. Another 5K gone, but my kids always come first. And of course my wife said . There's always Christmas ... right!?.

How about suspension mods. A Solid axle to go with the 3.73s or 4.10s sure would be nice.

I thought about that. I replaced all the irs bushings and added a brace. I want to keep it close enough to the point of putting it all back stock in case I want to go back original or sell it. I will probably leave it alone and save up for a kb/whipple.

I talked to a guy that put some 4:10's in his. Totally useless with street tires and first gear for that matter. I had several combos in my fox ride w/ stroker and blower, trying to find that right match. I think I will just leave it alone and try to save up for a kb/whp.
