My 1997 Cobra's "check engine" light came on at about 50 miles after cleaning and re-oiling the K&N filter. The cel hadn't come on before cleaning the filter. The OBDII code error is:
"P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Flow Improper". I've checked all connections for tightness and ran a "smoke" test but found no leaks, replaced the IAT sensor, replaced the MAF (and sensor), and installed a new air filter (Fram). I reset the computer and about 50 miles later the CEL came on again with the same error code. Anybody have an idea of what to try next. I'm assuming that the secondary air injection system is from the air breather to the throttle body.

no secondary air injection is your "smog pump" which in your car is electric. you will need to check out the circuits having to do with the smog pump.

You don't live in Crackifornia, so I suggest just deleting the smog pump. It's nearly useless anyways.

Thanks for replyng back folks, I just joined and as a new Cobra owner, I'm still learning. I'm trying to get this car through the Texas vehicle inspection (it's originally from Michigan) and the CEL keeps coming on. The inspection won't even put it on the computer until the CEL is cleared adn shows ready (takes about 50 miles of driving to get it to change from "not ready". Anyway, as soon as I get back home from Calgary, I'll attack the smog pump and cross my fingers.
