Hello Everyone,
I just bought a 2001 SVT on Ebay. The clicking and tapping sounds are not bad at idle or full throttle. Just normal load. Get's worse as it warms up. Is this common for 98k miles. Can these heads be rebuilt???? Thanx Scott

Scott- return it immediately if you can. If you're prepared to eat the cost, take it to a qualified FORD 4V mechanic to get diagnosed. This is important. These 4V modular engines are not cheap to get work done on and experts are not a dime a dozen. If you really want to keep it and the engine is toast, consider buying a crate motor for a reputable source. These guys are not cheap, but they are the best at building 4v modular engines:

So the tapping sound is coming from the head? Near the spark plug or more tward the headers? Feel the coil packs while running the engine to narrow it down.

since it runs smooth and no smoke.....could tap just be lash adjuster?
