Default 1998 Mustang Cobra Lower End Noise?

Hey all! I am not too familiar with 4.6 motors, and have a tech question. Is there any inherent weakness with a Cobra lower end? I found a nice 1998 Cobra selling reasonable, but owner says it has a noise in lower end. Car looks like it has been driven by a Librarian all its life! Bone stock! Any thoughts? Any assistance would be appreciated! I am out! DESERT DALE

Most Cobra bottom ends are pretty solid, but anything could've happened to it. If there's any noise at all, you might need to walk away from it, you don't want to buy someone else's headache.

They have a forged crank, but the rods and pistons aren't forged. I'd stay away from anything that was making noise. Any DOHC motor is not cheap to repair.
