Default Possible Piston Slap???

Ive noticed a slight tapping from my engine its got 30000 miles on it. Sounds like a tapping lifter but ive heard of piston slap making a similar noise. If so is there any cure for piston slap!?!?! Thanks for any input.

Piston slap usually occurs at cold start up, but if it is slap, there's no actual cure that I know of for it.

Most likely the sound you hear is an exhaust leak.

Does it come and go. Louder when cold or hot?

piston slap usually happens with forged piston because they expand and contract more with hot and cold. Does it go away when it is fully warmed up? Does it happen only when you first start it up? Engines sometimes make tapping noises until the oil works its way through to the top of the engine.

it happens from start up and lasts the whole time the car is running. I thought it could be an exhaust leak as well but it just has a different sound and is deffinatly coming from under the hood. It seems worse after hard excelleration. Its the same hot and cold. Thanks for the input.
