Worked for Steeda's wheels, but they didn't get any cheaper to buy

That should really boost the economy. I don't know who does the thinking for Whipple(Ford) but I hope they fall on their face and bankrupt.
why they are only ever improving there systems every year. Making there new units recently (2GEN) I am sure there is more then this then people think of it and it is not for them to try to rip people off.
Some thing would of had to of happen to force them to raise the price. Shoot if whipple raises there prices for a while to get them out of the hole and keep them in business then so be it.
I would still pay 1000 more for a whipple then a KB. When it comes to buying my car i wont skimp on quality. I think the new 2Gens blow away KB and Whipples 3.4L is insane.
But i am still a procharger guy
i would never also ask any one to fail that is kind of messed up of you to say. I am cool with whipple and they let me use there Dyno to tune my car with and i would never want any of them like Brent to lose there jobs. There all great guys.
It's not messed up. Thats the problem with todays world, they all want to take advantage of a good thing i.e Stang crazies. So Whipple might have made a few changes, they couldn't have done enough to justify $1000.00. Thats just bad greedy business. I know that all business's are there to make a profit, but to try and make a killing on hard working people. Once again I hope they fail. Whipple was un the running for me, but no longer. There are other good "Quality" SC'S out there screaming my name now.

Well, some manufacturing capacity for Eaton-based twin screws just came open...
Saleen is gone. They are auctioning off the entire business.
So strike my comment about Saleen raising prices soon, THAT isn't going to happen!
There are more announcements like this coming down the pike.
Companies that CAN recoup the costs of increased materials and transportation will do so, and probably sell fewer items...
And Companies that LACK pricing power will just go bust.
I won't name any names right here, but I know of one that is on the edge that will surprise a lot of folks on here, and no, I'm NOT talking about Ford themselves (they have at least another year's worth of money to burn up first).

LOL, guys, its not JUST Whipple raising prices - basic inflation this past year is over 5.5%, and the rate for manufactured goods is closer to 8%. Add in the effect of inflation at the RETAIL level, and you have a 10% increase likely on EVERYTHING out there.
Imported items are likely to see increases about twice of that.
What would be news after the year our economy has had is something that DOESN'T go up in price.
I'm an old guy, and you do NOT want to get me started on prices - I have seen prices for cars and car stuff that would make you weep with envy today. But nothing stays static - inflation is always with us, though recently not so strong as this past year.
Anyone with a really big project buy list MIGHT do well to consider picking up those pricier items right now - no lie. The surge of inflation through the economy IS picking up steam, and we'll be seeing prices shoot up soon on a lot of items.
Watch tires and other petroleum-based things, for instance...
I just priced a replacement tire at almost 40% more than I bought the same, identical tire for 2 years ago (same supplier, and yes, still the cheapest internet source).
Do I wish I had picked up that spare THEN vs now?
You bet I do.

you telling a company that you know nothing about period that you hope they fail is pure ignorance. I spoke with a few tuners in Fresno that work with Brent from whipple last night about this and it is a step that they have to take and there are other issues as well that I do not have the capability to discus do to my respect for them as a great company.
There are so many more things that go into raising the price over just parts. What about every one who is making those individual parts. They may want more money, the transportation of every part. The cost of living that is in CA where they are as well.
There is so many more things that go into this other then oo its a greedy move. If you remember there ORIGINAL price on there units before they were released were around 7k. They lowered it....
Did you stop and think that maybe they have tried to keep there units affordable with out product mark up through out the years and now it has just caught up to them as a company and they are just doing what they need to do to survive.
You say you hope they fail well I say this to you I hope which ever blower you put on blows your motor. Both statements should not be said and are not ok to say either. Whipple has done more for this community they you guys are giving them credit of and they deserve there respect.
also with the gas prices rising and an est. of over 6$ next year being in place I can see allot of these companies going out of business or raising there prices up ALLOT.
So start modding like crazy now because we will find out who is the real junky's soon I know I wont ever stop modding 6mpg who gives a.....
Just to make it clear, talking tough about a product, public figure or even a company is ok, but making personal insults and hits on our fellow members is NOT.
There's a button at the top of the page here on AFM called "Site Rules" - anyone who has any doubts should hit it and check out the contents.
This has been a good discussion, and one with a lot of passion and good info exchanged. When you see me or other mods who have very limited time to particpate in the fun stuff posting up, you can usually tell that its a GOOD thread.
But its my job to step in if things get too heated...
So please, everyone, keep it civil and not personal.

Spoken perfectly by a person who knows exactly nothing about running a business. Every ignorant person with no business knowledge, skills or on the ground training have some pie in the sky impression how it would be a perfect world if these went away….and they list you all the problems.
In The Biz, at least the Motorcycle Biz we call people like you 2%’rs. You represent the 2% of the customer base that wants a killer deal on everything, hangs out all day at the shop asking you questions, wants to go to the front of the line in the service department because they are such a good customer because they buy (at nearly cost) so much stuff at the store. They want you to stay late so they can pick their bike up 2 hours after you close. They won’t stay out of the service department short of you hitting them with an “accidentally flying wrench”. They order parts and you tell them it will take 10 days to get them but they call every day to see if they are there anyway. It goes on and on. The 2%’rs will pull in the lot with their BMW, put it on the center stand, remove the rear wheel, take the bungee chords off of the new tire that is strapped to the back of their bike and walk up to the service counter and with a straight face announce they don’t have an appointment but you need to change their tire anyway and then to proceed to hand you the rim, new tire and new tube THAT THEY MAIL ORDERED SOMEWHERE ELSE!
The 2%’rs can take 98% of your day away from you. And then you don’t have time to help the people that are respectful, fun to deal with, don’t beat you up on price and are more than understanding that you will not have time to mount a tire for them on a Saturday because you are slammed already. But ya know what, the 98%’rs get all sorts of perks over the long run. They get bikes delivered because you were going that way anyway, they get a call right away when a new closeout list comes out from one of the suppliers so they have a crack at some of the cheap goodies and some are even allowed to hang out I the service department because they are not bugging you to death about “This guy on the internet said this, this guy on the internet said that, etc, etc)
I do a little something special for 5-6 2%’rs a year. I square up with them on their bill/work order, even if what they said they were going to pay was far less than what the work actually cost. I ask them if they are happy with the transaction and hope they are holding no hard feelings. I even ask one more time if there is anything else I can do for them. Once they say yes I tell them they are fired and never to come in my shop again. The looks on their faces are priceless! And if they start to steam up I simply remind them that no longer than 2 minutes ago they agreed that they were happy with the transaction.
GoStang, you are the kind of person I fire before we even start work.
The buying power that you think you have is a myth. If you go off and mail order all of your stuff and then try and put it on yourself and can’t do it then decide to swing by the shop for the last 5 minutes of the day to get some help get a big surprise. You get to see all the employees walk out the door, set the alarm and get in their respective vehicles and leave. The whole time not even acknowledging your presence.
I would hang out till midnight for a 98%’r on the other hand.

What I'm warning against is the sort of thing I see coming NEXT, but OK, this caught my eye:
"GoStang, you are the kind of person I fire before we even start work."
Direct and personal comment, the sort that can lead to more hot retorts in return.
Not singling you out, Sqidd, just trying to get the discussion back on Whipple and off of personalities about fellow members. Only reason I responded to your post (vs the whole series, which is what I was talking about) was that you asked. You're not the only one with some heat in their posts, and I actually agree with the facts of your position.
Just trying to keep the peace here.
