went to tillman speed Tillman Speed Inc. - Performance Since 1979 near philly and put the car on the dyno today and got some #'s and an SCT chip burned for it as well..
i have a few problems though, turns out when the car hits ~5300rpm's,thers an issue where it basically is like hitting a rev limiter, either i need to replace the valve springs(crane beehives),or swap the 1.72 rockers for some 1.6's,i guess the extra lift of the 1.72's combined with the cam is giving me some coil bind,so after 5300,it basically hits a wall..
also i need to upgrade my stock fuel pump, its maxed out, other than that everything was good..my A/F ratio was great right across the board and the stock 19lb injectors are still sufficient..
after the tune, the car is much more driveable and smoother around town,im quite pleased with that. also pleased witht he service and the price, and he said once i correct my spring/rocker issues and upgrade the fuel pump,i can take it back down for another pull and he'll tweak the tune for Free..
so here the chart,im happy for the $1200 or so i have into the motor
it put down ~267hp and torque was 296..the torque curve looks pretty solid throughout, never lower than 250ft-lbs..

I don't think you have coil bind, which often results in dropping a valve or breaking parts without any loss in power up to the failure point. It looks like valve float, where the springs are not strong enough to fully close the valves.
The valve springs not only have to fight the inertia of the valves to close the valves, they have to push the rockers back and the push rods and the lifters down against the cam. There is a lot of weight in the lifters and push rods and the oil inside them.
A higher ratio rocker actually makes it easier to push the lifters and push rods back, not more difficult. Changing to a lower ratio rocker won't give dramatic results when the problem is valve float from low spring pressure.
You need to look at the spring pressure (along with making sure they are out of coil bind by a safe margin). Most likely the problem is inadequate spring pressure, and changing the rockers won't correct the problem. Changing rockers from 1.7 to 1.6 reduces lift by 6% and generally increases valve return pressure near the seat by less than 2% and changes NOTHING on the seat. The exact amount depends on the weight ratios of things on each end of the rocker.
Maybe you really need springs with 20% more pressure on the seats??? That's where I would look first rather than giving up lift for no change in valve seat pressure.
While you don't want parts bouncing around at any point in the valve cycle, the dyno seems to indicate a valve closing problem. That is caused by low seat pressure for the cam closing ramp rate, not so much by lift issues.
I have no idea what springs will fit your cam, heads, and retainers properly but someone at a place that sells valvetrain parts should.
Generally when I buy a spring I try to find a spring that is as far from coil bind as possible (maximum closed to full open travel) because I've generally found they last longer before going soft or breaking. I'm sure some spring wholesaler or retailer can help you.
Do you have a spring tester that works on the car?? It is a valuable tool to have. One of the best things I ever bought.
Interesting, I have a very similar combo except for non-ported heads, stock rockers and an e-cam. Getting it dyno'd hopefully in about 3 weeks, so this gives me a little bit of an idea. Post up when you get the fixes in place!

my heads arent ported heavily,i did them myself in my basement and was afraid to get too crazy with them,so basically the're just "cleaned up" a bit
post up your results when you get it done,i was hoping to see higher #'s,but arent we all?? haha

yes,and Tmoss has the same setup with a stock cam and his showed 277rwhp..ive heard there can be differences/variations due to anything from tire pressure to the tightness of the straps that hold the car down,so im not taking it as gospel, and i wouldnt either if i were you
