Tillman supplied SCT-X3 Firmware updates I recently purchased 3 tunes from Tillman speed which came in an SCT-X3 tuner. I got a hold of a USB cable and downloaded the updater software from SCT and what I think is flash programmer updated firmware. I think because what I read on SCT's web site warned of some sort of changes to programmers sold over a year ago. Bought from whom; SCT or a 3rd party? I don't know when a particular 3rd party purchased their stock. So, a tuner bought 7/1/09 from Tillman a pre change item or a post change?
One other question about updating the tuner....
My current firmware is 1.2.113 and unless I am mistaken, the SCT web site is offering version 1.2.116. This is a minor up date I know and as far as I know everything worked for me so I am not in a big hurry. If I should update the firmware in the tuner, should I return my car to stock first? There was a warning in the documentation about a possible problem with the tuner loosing track of where the tunes were and instructions for recovering from the problem. I would rather avoid it. The docs did not advise me to return to stock before a firmware update. But because of the possible error condition, I though I would ask first. Thank you.
