Default Edelbrock E-force...Kicks Butt at Track on my Automatic !!

Finally got to the track w/ my new combo...

Needless to say I am very happy w/ the results...it seems like my S197 was the only one at Cecil breaking into the 11's when there were a bunch of Cars making "more" hp... except they seemed to be struggling w/ the launch...I felt like I was cheating w/ the auto... just hold the brake and give it a little gas... and let her rip when the light turns green. It does not get any easier that that.

On my very first pass ever... I went 11.658 w/ a 1.766 60 ft time in 82 deg weather

Mods to date:
Tillman's Edel E-force stage 1 w/ 3.50 pulley (7-9.5 psi), 450 rhwp SAE
JBA Shorties headers, magnaflow catted x-pipe, SSS Adrenaline axle-backs
100% stock suspension, gears (3.31's), transmission and converter.
Mickey T's drag radial on stock 18" bullitts (265-40-18)

There were a few GT500's that could not get out of the 12's to save their lives... one dude showed me his JPC dyno chart where he was making 572 rwhp.... 615 rwtq... and his 60 ft times were like 2.4 seconds and his best ET was 12.60 (I think).

Just trying to decide If I should put the stage 2 pulley on and get myself kicked-off for the hell of it...(no roll bar)

That really is an impressive time. I'm sure the tires helped alot. If you change the gear ratio and do some suspension adjustments, you will be really flying down the track. I'm impressed, thats a much better time then I would have assumed with your set up.

Based on what other blown auto's are running making this king of power I was hoping for a high 11...

Nice - congrats! A friend of mine was there that night (in his Z28) and ran best mph for him at 118... apparently it was a great night for running.. I was supposed to go run him but had scheduling issue.. Now I really wish I was able to make it....

Was that Z28 a light green w/ one gauge on hood right where the A-pillar meets the fender? I think I saw him run...

Yes... stock internals...I would think stock internals can handle 9-10 psi at 450-460 rwhp range. Where does Chris R have your car at? how much boost?

It is an 02 I think.. what I would prob call grey or silver. I don't think there's any extra gauges but don't rem for sure. I know he went with street tires (don't know why he didn't put on the MT's), and ran 12.3 @ 118 or 119... We've got a little rivalry going on; as I get faster, he adds bigger jets... Funny thing is he works on my car at the Ford dealership, so sometimes he's helping make me faster than him........

By the way, Melch - will you be there next week on Wed or Fri? I am going to try to go at least one if not both days - I will look for your car there - maybe we'll try to line up together but if not I wanna at least try to see you run- those are some awesome times - if it's your first time in the 11's I am sure you are as excited about it as I was. You gotta love running 11's in a car with a full interior, a/c, stereo, and automatic tranny with OD - on street legal radials

dtuna42...your car seems to be very close to mine. I have stock gears and converter and tranny. What is your set-up?

I had no idea that the folks at Cecil County Drag Way would take your picture...I had not been to that track since the summer of 1991, 18 years ago... when I raced my 1991 Mustang 5.0L LX 5.0 Coupe... w/ bolt-ons I went 12.98 @ 104.79 w/ a 1.90 60 ft time...times have changed... See my pic below

Damn that thing was doin everything but pulling the front wheels coming off the line. That is a very impressive time for your setup.

Very similar. GT Coupe Automatic + blower & exhaust = fast! I think you could say we "representin" I have since added a Level 10 Tranny with 2400 stall converter, 1pc aluminum driveshaft, and 3.73 rear. This is mostly to keep things form breaking, but the converter and gears could help with ET's if I ever become better out of the home.
I am seriously considering the suspension work but I don't know what parts are recommended. I want a "good daily driver that launch on weekends" setup. If anyone knows about those parts or has any suggestions, send thm my way

If you don't mind, could you send me the "winpep" file from when you were dyno-tuned? was it a dynojet? if not, how about the hp/tq curves...I trying to see how the e-force compares to a whipple HO. I know the two are practically identical in performance...
