I currently have a 2000 Mustang v6 with 235k miles. The entire driveline is in serious need of an overhaul. Rather than pour a few thousand dollars into restoring my car, I figured I would just buy a wrecked 2003/2004 cobra and swap the entire driveline. My plan is to drop the front k-member of the donor cobra i find, including the motor, transmission, and entire front suspension. I expect to spend several months on this project and do all of the work myself with my dad. My questions are as follows:
1) Where's a good place to find wrecked salvage cobras? I see a few on online salvage sites but is there a chance of finding any local?
2) I know I'll need to swap the ecu and engine/computer harness, but will I need to swap the body harness as well due to my car being a 00 model?
3) As far as I know, i'll be swapping the engine, transmission, driveshaft, k-member and front suspension, ecu and harness, fuel tank/pump, brakes, brake master cylinder, radiator, etc. What am i forgetting? Will I need to swap the a/c and brake lines?
I'd appreciate any advice you guys have. I have the tools and skills to do the swap, I just want to be sure I know what I'm getting into first.
