kind of pointless IMO since it won't cost you too much more to just buy two mufflers and get a midpipe so you actually have two pipes going to the manifold..that will sound better...just go on youtube and check out the different sounds..

You can only do this by making a U bend on the passengers side of the exit on your muffler and routing it back toward the cat on the passengers side and then to the back of the car. Two pipes wont go between the frame and the upper control arm for the rear end on the drivers side and you can't go under rear end at the housing. So you either do Duals from the "Y" pipe or like I said. A one in two out sounds better, Duals are much easier. Patents is always a virtue.
Straights... just get a straight pipe running along both the exhausts that start at the engine... right now im running on what your thinking about(minus the dual starting at muffler). I have the stock exhaust with one pipe and that one pipe leads to one flowmaster 40 the sound is terrible right now, i suggest not doing it. thats why im getting straights(if you get tailpipes which is another thing im debating, then you have to get a new bumper (gt) or cut holes in it usually)

Ok...another idea.... What if i got one flowmaster with dual inlet and dual outlet and took out my Y pipe and ran the two pipes into the one flowmaster and out into duals?
You would still have to make a "U" bend from the passengers side back towards the front and cross over to the passengers side and out the passengers side of the car. The exhaust can not go under the rear end and can not have two pipes go over the rear end at the drivers side of the control arm/ rear end area.

yep, the best way if you want dual outlets is to have dual separate pipes straight from the cats, and get 2 flowmasters, and an H pipe crossover to balance it off.

1 flowmaster 40 the loudest series hardly makes any noise in my v6. I still think straights are going to be the best, its a lot cheaper than 650$ dual exhaust kit. But just to throw a question out there, if I cut the cats off would it still be loud and deep and what would I do about the o2 sensors? And should I get tailpipes and what kind. Or leave them off?

If your paying 650 dollars for a kit your getting raped...you shouldn't pay over 400 to have it done..forget about buying a kit, go to your local muffler shop and tell him you want a dual flowmaster 40 setup exhaust with a mid pipe (my preference is Hpipe) and some tips..I got 3 1/2 get whatever size you like, but I would say definitely get tips..btw read this posting I have a video of a catless mustang and pictures of my stang with the 3.5 tips.. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ur-opinon.html

What about the tips and my bumper, it doesnt have any cut out holes. What type of tips should i get and whats the difference in having a mid pipe like an H pipe or just having straight pipes with no mid pipe... price estimate?

every place you go will be a little different..and if you go to that other thread I posted above it shows my car in pictures which has cutouts in the bumper...not hard to do but if you dont want to do it yourself you can take it to most shops and they will cut your bumper for you for around 30 bucks..you can get whatever tip you like I went for 3.5 Magnaflows cuz I like how it looked but whatever you want..tips will prolly be around 30 each...as far as mid pipe it depends on what sound you like...go on youtube and listen to the different sounds...the midpipe stabilizes the sound...personally I like the H pipe sound the best..

A one in two out is a good sounding system, You just have to route the passengers side back to the front a bit to go down the passengers side. Not a crazy idea, it's what has to be done if you run one muffler. Two tail pipes wont fit threw the area between your control arm and the rear end on the drivers side. and if you decide to run two mufflers, a cross over or "H" pipe is a waste of time and money on a 6. 6 don't have a back pressure build up like an 8 does.
