i can usually figure these out, but im stumped!, my car usually gets 260 miles on a tank, but now its getting about 210miles, and i think its going lower still, i am below half a tank, and have driven only 130 miles!


i have new oil in the car, tires are fine, i was thinking maybe the airfilter needs to be cleaned, but i took it out about 2 weeks ago, and it looks farily clean(i've only had it on for about 5 months)
the pulley belt is getting replaced, but i doubt that would cause the lower gas mileage

and i have started using chell over cheveron, think the fuel qualites of gas are taking there toll?

and wat else do u suggest i try, i was thinking of throughing in some fuel tank cleaner, it has helped me before.

Try your fuel filter, it may need replacing. Spark plugs and wires, cleaning your tb or maf. I'm in the same crisis as you. I'm clocking in at about 15.1 miles to the gallon with conservative city driving.

its fixed now, i cleaned the MAF, and switched back to cheveron, now runs better than before!

Yes, it is amazing how some simple things can decrease or increase your gas mileage. Folks should check the basics now and again just like they do their oil changes.
