if you want a good side exhaust you can run it with mufflers and I would recommend it..it won't sound good without them.. I've heard the best for side exhaust from Spintech..check em out..make sure you do it right if you are going to follow through with it because I have seen some pretty ****** up side exhaust set ups.. |
SpinTech is the best regarded for 6s, but Borla makes a set as well.

The tip doesn't do anything with regards to power, it's a resonator - a sound enhancing device. Generally, -to a point -the larger & round tips produce a deeper resonance (which is why Ford lengthened and widened the tips when it went to the 4.6L to mimic the sound of the 5.0L
Squaretips will reflect higher pitched frequencies a little more, but the power gains come from properly sized tubing and free-flowing mufflers.
Last point on exhaust - you should get stainless-steel, if you're concerned with longevity. If you're going all out - pick up titanium.
