Default 1999 Mustang Interior help

I just bought a 1999 Mustang a couple of months ago and i have hooked it up with audio and everything now im starting work on the interior. I'm thinking about having the whole interior red and black like one i saw in "Modified Mag". The car had red and black seats like the ones and have but they had the side panels red as well. I was wondering is there a way to dye your side panels and floor carpet a different color? Also, any ideas for a crazy interior would be helpful as well. Thanks

I probably wouldn't use to many ideas out of Modified seeing as how they are meant for an import car...

Modified Magazine has a publishing JUST FOR MUSTANGS! It's called Modified Mustangs. Please don't knock the imports until you can really appreciate the tuning, workmanship and vision involved with them. They put plenty time, money and effort into their cars as much as the next "mustang" guy.

Not trying to come off as an a** but I hate the prejudice against imports...

If you want different color carpeting, you're probably going to need to replace the carpeting itself. Dye wouldn't work very well.

You can always remove your plastic parts and paint them the color you want. I see a lot of guys do it....sometimes it looks tacky, but sometimes it looks halfway decent. I personally don't like it but to each his own.

You should definitely not make such an asinine assumption next time. It makes you look like an even bigger dumbass. Where did I ever make a comment about an import car? Did I say he was a ricer? Did I say that Imports were peices of ****? Did I make fun of him for reading Modified? No.

All I said was that 'I' would probably not use ideas that were for an Import on a Domestic. I know quite a bit about imports. I would say that I know more than you but that would be making another assumption, and I hate to assume... Next time you shouldn't come off as such an asshole.

I am well aware of Modified Mustangs. I am going to take a leap here and say that I probably know more about the company that owns these magazines than you do.

imports boo! haha just kiddin, imports are alright, one thing i cant stand about them though it the ricey sound... its not like i have a muscle car over here or anything. some imported cars arent that bad, i dont like some hatchbacks especially... but were all entitled to our own opinion arent we? i might not have even gotten into mustangs if it wasnt for my brother being an owner of a '65 and a convertible 5L...

""""I probably wouldn't use to many ideas out of Modified seeing as how they are meant for an import car..."""

Then tell me what it is you were meaning as "many ideas from Modified mag are meant for imports"

I will garauntee you that anything that is done to any of those cars in that magazine can and has been and will forever continue to be done to mustangs...

And I don't give a damn who publishes the magazine...I have a shitload in my bathroom but that doesn't really matter. The fact of the matter is is that it was a snide comment about imports and the disrespect that many domestic owners have for them. yours hasn't been the only comment I've read about it, nor will it be the last.

Oh yah....all of your seemingly sound argumentative rhetorical questions were irrelevant to your original comment and to mine as well.

I'm not going to quabble with an idiot.

i think we all just need to take a deep breath and chill lol. its a car forum, for adding even more fun to your car. everyone has different views, and honestly... who has a right to critisize anyone for their opinion, or better yet, who has the spare time to worry about stuff like that? instead of bickering go to another thread or somethin ya know?

You can use any kind of spray paint, though I would warn you to use a higher quality paint. What you would need to do is to remove all the pieces you want to paint, clean them VERY throughly with a rubbing alcohol or brake cleaner...anything that will degrease and evaporate quite quickly. Then I would take a primer and spray down a coat of that, let dry. Then a few coats, probably 2 or 3 of your color. I would do many thin coats as opposed to fewer heavy coats. Let each coat dry thoroughly. Patience is important here. After all your coats are down, go over with 2 or 3 coats of clear coat, Let dry for 48-72 hours before you put them back in you car. There you go...nice shiny pieces of inside!

They all have to do with my comment dumbass. Why are you trying to argue semantics with me when I made the comment?

'I probably wouldn't use to many ideas out of Modified seeing as how they are meant for an import car...'

You like to be right don't you? lmao I meant it as it was typed. I would not use ideas that were meant for a totally different car on my car. I would not use an import cars style for my domestic, I would not use a domestic style for my European, I would not use a European style for my Import etc.etc. Sounds like you wanted to assume that you knew me and what I liked. I have owned imports, a euro, and domestics. I actually like all cars. I am not a fanboy. lol

To the OP, sorry, I just hate listening to people who seem to know everything about everyone. You would have to get a new carpet if you wanted a different color or style. ACC: your authority for custom automotive carpet, floor mats, and more has different styles of carpets and colors. You can use any type of plastic/vinyl paint. When you paint it make sure to sand it(plastic/vinyl) down as fine as you can and try not to paint when it is humid. The humidity makes the paint bubble and not dry as fast.
