Default Just a little more power please.

well my thunderbird dont seam to have alot of power wich i knew wene i got it, its a good car just bad on gas right now, and dont have much throttle. i was wondering if there was an mod i could do that was inexpensive to the intake or exaust its all the stock configuration right now, it is a fuel injected 3.8 liter v6, non s/c its a 1990 standard.

I know i posted another thread requiring the intake gasket but was figureing if i was to change that i could do a mod on the intake too.\

ow yeah how hard would it be to put a eaton supercharger on my v6, the same one put on the production sc model. And where can i find one

a CAI and exhaust would help with cheaper mods,a dn they aso help with mpg

and i thing the supercharger would be a direct bolt on of sorts, it still wont be an easy job, a tad easuer for ur t-bird, sinceu proably dont have to modfiy it, unlike our stangs were we have to do some modifications

and to get the supercharger, ebay(they either come with just the s/c, or all the parts), junkyard if ur lucky, but u have to look around

thanks man, what do you think about hollowing the cats, alot of people tell me to, but i have a bad feeling about it because of it being a fuel injected and the fact that i will have less back pressure, should i or not anyone?

so just get a full exaust system basicaly, what about the intake besides a k&N filter should i get a snub nose and get rid of the box filter. I was thinking i could run intake pipe to the stock intake hole on the bottom of my bumper but there is plastic in the way, so i figured i could cut it away and try to make a mold of the hole and try to make it look right. lol

I hope i make sence in this one.
If you need a pick or something just let me know and i will show you what i mean lol,

There are other things you can do to increase handling and how that power is used that will make your car faster without actually changing the power it has. Have you considered gear changes for one?

... just tossing out ideas...

gear changes isn't that expensive and what kind of gears do you recommend, i know it is a four speed and doesnt that make it quick off the line rather than top speed being high. (doesnt seem quich eather way as it is now). not to good with ratio's, explain

actually it is the other way around 4 speeds are better on the top end. Gears would give you better acceleration but they are bad on gas. If you are looking for gears 3.73 would be a good ratio.

Correct, the gears would make for quicker acceleration. This gives you a faster ride around town and normal highway driving. But they do make it a bit worse on gas. However, most power mods and other things do as well to some degree.

I think that not having a good tuneup causes more mileage issues for folks than a lot of the mods we have done though.

eBay Motors: PERFORMANCE MODULE Ford Thunderbird/SC 90-06 Chip Power (item 250211147759 end time Feb-05-08 17:39:33 PST)

this is a module that i found on ebay i have looked over the information that is provided with the product just wondering if anyone has heard of this and if its worth the money.

It is called the turbo pro, it looks like it could be a easy install. and if its a cheap rip off what products do you recomend.
