Default mid pipe sizing

ok i have a dual flow master set up with the stock Y pipe where the exhaust shop just modified, and my friends gave me a custom H pipe which have resinators but the thing is that it is 2.5"....will that work with the piping i have now? (2.25") since its only the mid pipe?

and if it will work how will the performance and the sound differ?

Also now sometimes when i turn my car on the theif light keeps on flashing, and it takes a while longer to start up. any ideas for that?http://www.mustangforums.com/image/s13.gif

yeah i still have the cats on, but the H pipe has resonators so that out be nice since its forcing more air to the mufflers

will this hurt my MPG's or performance?

as always thanks
