I'm not an expert but every pound taken out would help you run faster. BUT how much does a back seat weigh? Maybe run with an almost empty gas tank. Probably would lose more weight that way.

Yes..... I You are saving around 40+ pounds with it out. A good rear seat delete kit is in order. Like the one I posted in my '01 project car...... It is simple to do yourself and looks good.

You need to:

1. Remove rear interior panels
2. Remove top trim piece along top of seat, bolts and supporting hardware for seat structure.
3. Remove seatbelt assemblies or hide them behind interior panels.
4. Build a kit made of lightweight wood or cardboard and carpeting.

What have you done to lighten the body? I've got all the tricks.

This brings up a question I have been wondering about. Can you use the seat belt assemblies from the rear and put them in the front? On my Mustang, as do most Mustangs, the seatbelt doesn't want to retract. lol It is not really a big deal but it would be a lot easier to just use the ones out of my car to replace it with rather than going and buying new ones.

i have a rear seat delete, but then i mounted an amp to it, i like it just for the looks, but it does save weight. plus now i don't have a bunch of people asking for rides.

I would need to know your best track time, tire size, and mph..... This would best determine where your car is right now. Oh yeah, do you have any gravel pits with scales around to weigh your car? We take ours down to one just to see how much weight we've trimmed. Mine is under 3000lbs after today's removal of the front sway bar.
