im currently having a cai from AM shipped to my house and i was wondering if it is possible to maybe swap out the filter they give me if it isnt to my liking with a k&n which might even give me a little more

Sure you can. Just compare and order the same size K&N.

If you bought a good CAI you probably won't notice a differance. You will only see one if you bought a cheap one.
