Ok, I have seen posts on here about doing work to your 3.8L engine to make it a 4.2L. How would I go about doing this and how much would it cost? What kind of HP gains would I get by doing this?

Two ways, you can either use a shortblock from an f-150 or you can buy a stroker kit from supersix, morana, or delk. The f-150 route is cheaper but the internals aren't any stronger than stock, but the stroker kit route you can throw boost, spray, everything but the kitchen sink at it will hold up.

Not much for power gains mostly done for the extra strength but you can expect 10-15 hp and 20-25 tq.
