Default Advice on Racing with an auto trans

I mentioned this in my other thread so i figured i would mention it here. I won my first race but i need to get better. does anyone have any advice racing with an auto trans 3.8L? thanks alot

gas and brake at the same time when sitting still, to the point of which the tires start chirping, and let go of the brake when you go green and let the car shift on it's own. not too hard.

Also turn off the overdrive until you hit 70.

That will keep it from shifting into your overdrive too soon and killing your power since most of your torque is at the higher band of your RPM's.

ohh i gotcha, so at around 65 mph do i switch back to overdrive?

i always found it helpful to shift the trans myself....

Show : Bullitt : door lock knobs , shifter trim ring , fuel door , pedals , Smoked and clear cornered headlights , white face gauges , GT fogs , Mach 1 Grille Delete , Shinoda front chin spoiler, Bunch of Billett stuff , Gt hood scoop , and GT side scoops

You would just put it in first and then push the shifter forward into the next gear. If you get a tuner your tranny will benifit from better shifter sequence. Get that a CAI and daul exsaust. That will help your times a lot.

the biggest bang for the buck would be gears. Like my car , i'm planning on a SCT tuner , 4.10's and a ford racing Tlok.
