Default 3.8 to 5.0 swap

alright well its been awhile since ive posted anything on here. Ive wrecked my mustang into a tree. i swear those trees come outta nowhere. but it wasnt bad just a little body work. So i had to buy another wrecked mustang for $200 that was wrecked on the left side, same color, and has a bent frame which was the side i didnt need. so the cars good but now i have two 3.8 v6 engines and extra parts. ive got two options. take the one 3.8 engine and beef it up. cam it out.supercharge. the works. and then swap the engines. or option two. sell both engines and part out the other car. find a donner 5.0 and drop that sucker in there. and with the 5.0 would i have everything i needed if i bought the donner 5.0. would i need other parts? and would i need the 94-95 model because i have a 1998? What should i do folks?

I don't know the tech about it, but I would think it all depends on what you do with the stang. I mean if it's a daily driver kind of car, wouldn't dropping a 5.0 into it kind of ruin it's purpose? But if it's a "fun" car I'm thinking go to town with the 5.0 and have some fun (But again I don't know the tech of installing it)

sell your car and buy the gt.. i know you hear that alot but with all the work it would take to change everything you could have already bought a gt.. i dont wanna go into details with how much trouble there would be because there is a search button but if anything i say beef up the v6

here is the way i look at it. dont sell your car to get the gt because then your insurance will go up. just sell both of the engines and get the 5.0 and drop that in there. if you sell your car and buy a gt your insurance will be out the ass.(excuse the language) in my opinion i would just drop a 5.0 in there and mod the 5.0 out from there

it would be well worth it though because the stang gt isnt cheap and then the insurance isnt cheap and it would all even out in the long run

doing the swap is not worth it. its will cost too much. jus get the money and see where you stand. if you can, supercharge it.

are you sure about that? unless he gets a whole donor car for his swap than it isnt worth it.. because by the time its all said and done he could buy a gt for what the swap would cost.. and do you even know whats involved in the swap? and what all is needed?

thank you. there is much more to V8 swaps. I was considering one and I realize that there is wayyyy too much work and money that must go into it. Im jus gonna save up for a supercharger and thats what i recommend.

I agree. They are certainly more uncommon than a plain jane 5.0.
