You don't want to get any solvents on it enough to degrade the silicone, but it doesn't mean that you have to treat the hose with kid gloves.
The hoses will be subject to whatever splashes up through the engine compartment, along with whatever the hose delivers.
Don't let it lay in gasoline, or acetone, etc., don't expose it to harsh chemicals for a long period of time.
